Game of the Week: Philadelphia (1-3) vs. Buffalo (3-1) 12 CT FOX
Philadelphia has been far from living up to their high expectations for this year. Their free agent acquisitions of this offseason haven't showed up at all in the first four games. Their offense has been fairly successful this year with the 9th ranked passing offense and the second ranked rushing offense. Their passing defense has been solid, not spectacular, with the 11th ranked passing defense. Their run defense has been losing them games in this early season. the are the 3rd worst rush defense in the league. Their defense will be challenged by Buffalo.
The Buffalo Bills have been enjoying a somewhat magical start to the season. Even with their 25th ranked pass and 25th ranked run d, they have started the season 3-1, including a big divisional win over the hated New England Patriots.
The Eagles' defensive backs match up well with the Bills' receivers this week. But I predict the Eagles' rush defense will fail them again. Bills win 42-27
Upset of the week: San Diego (3-1) at Denver (1-3) 3:15 CT CBS
San Diego has started off the season very well with their only loss being to New England. Phillip Rivers has thrown for over 300 yards a game, and they have the 2nd ranked rush offense in the league.
Denver. Their defense has been bad. Their offense has been bad. The only thing that hasn't been horrible has been their run defense, and they need that to show up on Sunday.
San Diego had the number 1 offense and the number 1 defense in the league last year and didn't make the playoffs because of their horrible special teams. In fact, they let the Vikings return the opening kickoff of the year back for a touchdown in week 1. I predict that Denver can take advantage of that flaw in San Diego's scheme and win a tight one, 24-23.
Other picks:
Tennessee @ Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh +21. The loss of Kenny Britt is really going to hurt the Titans.
Seattle @ NY Giants: New York: +10. Seattle just doesn't have enough talent to compete in this game.
Cincinnati @ Jacksonville: Cincinnati +7. Jacksonville makes it close, but inexperience hurts them in the clutch.
New Orleans @ Carolina: New Orleans +14. Carolina's running game has been nonexistent in this early season. Cam Newton won't be able to be Superman in this game.
Oakland @ Houston: Houston +3. Houston rides the wave of a big win over Pittsburgh to another win over a much improved Oakland Raider squad.
Kansas City @ Indianapolis: KC +10. Indianapolis has a legitimate shot at going 0-16 this year.
Arizona @ Minnesota: Arizona +3. Minnesota loses in heartbreaking fashion again because of Peterson's lack of touches.
Tampa Bay @ San Francisco: San Francisco +1. San Francisco's epic comeback last week gives a jumpstart to their season.
NY Jets @ New England: New England +7. Tom Brady will go off. Again.
Green Bay @ Atlanta: Green Bay +14. Green Bay is too good to slip up on national telivision
Chicago @ Detroit: Detroit +14. Cutler could get sacked 10+ times in this game.
