NCAA Games of the week for 10/15/11

Game of the Week: 11 Michigan vs. 23 Michigan State ESPN 11 AM CT

Michigan: Denard Robinson has been sensational as usual in the first 6 games of Michigan's season. He is once again a top Heisman candidate this year. Michigan's 7th ranked rush offense has played a big part in their undefeated season so far.

Michigan State: Michigan State would need to win out this season to live up to where they performed last year. A win against Michigan would really help them reach that success of last year. Their loss at Notre Dame this year was a very bad loss in which they couldn't seem to do anything right. This game with Michigan starts a humungous 3 game stretch in which they play 11 Michigan, 4 Wisconsin, and 14 Nebraska. A win this week would springboard them into that Wisconsin game.

Prediction: I pick Michigan to win in a tight one 21-17.

Upset of the week: 19 Virginia Tech vs. Wake Forest 5:30 PM CT ESPN 3

Virginia Tech: Virginia Tech's marquee win against Miami does help bolster their early-season resumé, but I'm still not impressed with this year's version of the Hokies. Their offense got absolutely manhandled buy Clemson in week 5, and their numbers this season aren't very impressive at all.

Wake Forest: Wake Forest's only loss this season was their opening heart-breaker at Syracuse. Since then they have played some impressive football. They beat the Florida State Seminoles last week and sent them out of the Top 25. Wake Forest forced 5 turnovers in the win. Even though their defense was dismal at best (giving up 425 yards) they made up for it with forcing 5 turnovers, with their offense playing flawlessly.

Wake Forest wins this one 49-38
